Lightbulb "Sporty" Soccer Moms around the world Rejoice!

Oh boy... Highlander Sport

http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2006/...an=GM_HOME_TXT

Chrome 17" rims (ie Limted rims in chrome)
Exhaust tip
Chrome grill accents
Leather shift knob, with chrome stalk

We all know why they're doing this (cough, "end of product cycle." cough, "end of product cycle")

I'm just wondering... where's the hood scoop?

Let me tell you...i am very impress with the Highlanders...real smooth on-road with the V6 and very quiet cabin.

And since it's nearing the end of the cycle, we got a real good deal on it too!

Yep, my last SUV was a Highlander. Great ride, but I had to trade in my "man card" while driving it for 3 years.

To me, the 4Runner is a bit more "manly". Just my opinion.

Toyota definetly knows the market and you can hear GM/Ford/Chrysler execs quivering from anything Toyota puts out. Soccer moms will love this edition.

The Highlander is a great crossover SUV. I test drove one when shopping for an SUV and it was a quiet and smooth ride. I don't see much of a difference between the Sport and regular trim. How much will the Sport cost? I couldn't find anything on the Toyota website.

From the very first pic, most of the "changes" look very subtle, probably go unnoticed to those not familiar with Toyotas. IMO, it's Toyota's way of keeping sales up for models reaching the end of their product cycle, by putting out a "special/limited" edition version.

I wasn't very fond of the Highlander when it was introduced, because it seemed like it was competing with the 4Runner. But Toyota did their homework and it fills their SUV line up nicely, 4Runner being a rugged off road capable one and the Highlander being a pavement friendly one. After awhile the Highlander grew on me and I saw it as affordable RX300. I didn't really consider the Highlander because it got dated and I wanted something more rugged with a real RWD setup.

Hm...there's not enough difference for me. At least include wheels not offered on other Highlander models, the 18's offered on the RAV4 Sport would've been nice. It'll probably be a good seller since many people probably don't want to spend the money on a Limited for the 17's and a leather wrapped wheel.
