03 Tundra test drive

Since Toyota was kind enough to replace the dash in my wife's 04 4runner free of charge, I started looking at Tundra pickups to replace my aging and slowly dying Ford Ranger. Can't afford the latest version of the Tundra, so my search is focused on the previous generation trucks. Test drove a 2003 model yesterday with the 3.4 V-6. Seemed to be a tad underpowered, but the body was tight and didn't have single rattle.

I need to drive one with a 4.0 and a 4.7 before deciding on which one to buy. Overall, I like these trucks, but will likely look for an 05 or 06 model with the five speed transmission.

Most people do not find the 3.4 V-6 to be "underpowered" but probably you're used to more than it has.
