'05 Tundra RC

Here's the newest addition to my stable of Toyotas. I was in need of a full-size truck and came across this truck. One owner, high mileage(220K)but meticulously maintained Tundra. I was originally searching for a T100, but the pickens were slim. It wouldn't have pulled the load I needed to anyway. So here she is! Kind of a rare bird in that this guy bothered to order a fully optioned regular cab. Not many around! He put a 3" lift, add-a-leaves, and some 265/70r16 Nitto TerraGrapplers on some 16x8.5" eagle alloys. He also did a gear change to 4.56s. It also has a nice hitch and trailer brakes. Bed is Rhino-lined.

Didn't really care for the rims n tires that came with the truck so I sold them, along with some other wheels, on CL. Which is where of course that I found some replacements. Five 17x7" FJCruiser rims with caps, lugnuts, and wheelocks for $400. Next I mounted up some 34/10.50R17 BFG KO2s. The fit was perfect. No spacers needed. 👍🏻

Nice, I own a 1st-gen Tundra myself (original owner) and was one of the original moderators on Tundrasolutions. Being a CA vehicle I guess it didn't need a frame replacement, mine did since I live in the northeast.

That truck needs a T3 Edition grill and Ivan Stewart bumper. They look cleaner without flares IMO

And polish those headlights!

Thanks Ed! I plan on polishing the headlights soon. But holy hell are there a fton of kits on the market! So many to choose from... 🤔
What's a T3 grill and Ironman bumper look like? Never heard of them. I agree it definitely looks better without the flares. I'm looking to install locking hubs from a 2000 Tacoma next.

Grab whatever's on sale LOL. Someone gave my folks one of those foam meguiars buff wheels for a drill, I went to Pep Boys and bought a bottle plastic polish and a bottle of wipe-on UV protectant. The lights aren't brand-new perfect but definitely helped, even did a few coworkers' lights. I re-apply the protectant every so often but it's a simple wipe on/wipe off thing.

T3 grill

Ivan Stewart bumper

They're super-rare parts though.

Diggin the T3 grill. Not too crazy about the bumper tho. It's a little busy for me plus it might be too much white...
Took apart the coilovers. They were caked in mud and, viola!, they're adjustable!
Sorry for the sideways pic... fn T4R smh

Found a really clean used ATC pop up camper on Offerup. The camper is a shell model and only weighs 900lbs. The tundra came with aftermarket overload springs installed by the previous owner. Now she rides like a caddy over the big bumps! No body roll, handles great.

Was it worth spending your time buying used options? I've never been good at remotely determining quality and safety. I have to drive on difficult off-road in the spring-autumn season. So it makes sense for me to order a complete kit for the model in the online tires canada catalog - https://tireplanet.ca It may be easier for you with this in the USA. But I'm rather sorry to test my intuition on such purchases.
