Why does the LX 570 require premium fuel but not the Land Cruiser?

Why does the LX 570 require premium fuel but not the Land Cruiser? Both have the 5.7L iForce engine.

Interesting question; perhaps the 570 requires it to reach the higher horsepower rating?

Could be. The LC engine is rated at 381 HP, LX engine is rated at 383 HP, I'm not sure why the small difference. I have been considering the idea of a LX but guzzling that much premium fuel is a big turn off.

You need to consider that their AHC suspension does present issue as it ages...and more maintenance costs.
