Boy, this new gen doesn't look much different, unlike what Honda did with the Civic redesign. I think that the interior looks cheaper than my '05! I just don't see much of any improvement in the new model, which i guess is a good thing since the current gen is a top 10 seller. Still, i had hope for better shape (sleeker, less bubbly) and stronger engine (on par with Civic). I guess that there is only so much you can do with a small footprint.

From the press release, I'm pretty dissapointed at the new Corolla as well. It looks more like a mild refresh than a redesign.
I don't see how this can remain competative for another 5 years.

And the Matrix looks U-G-L-Y. I really wish they just would have given us the Auris. I really like the look of that. The Pontiac Vibe looks really good as well.

Here is the Auris that I was hoping for. Instead we get the Matrix above.

The Auris looks like the Toyota Yaris.

I have to agree with Thai. This redesign will NOT compete with the Honda Civics which show what a car maker can do with a small footprint. I think Toyota really missed an opportunity with this one.
