Ford is still trying to dominate the "cop car" market. Crown Vics are done, so they are having to come up with a replacement. I am sure the Taurus's will most likely get the bulk of state and local agencies. We are mostly getting Explorers and Chevy Impalas. Due to federal contract law, we are not allowed to purchase foreign made vehicles that are to be put to official use, ...., if so, I'd be screaming for a 5th gen 4runner - that would be cool decked out with the lights and sirens.

im glad to see the auto industry making vehicles that is law enforcement specific....firetrucks, ambulances, rescue vehicles, and a ton of military vehicles...we get stuck with stripped out civilian vehicles that dont last a year...i agree with "manhunter" my 4runner would make a great k9 unit...

They need to make them really bright in color, with the roof lights running all day and night, and have them stand out more than the other vehicles on the road.

Back home the cops have started using smaller cars for inner-city patrol duties, like this Lancer Evo X... they're hard to miss.
