Enkei RPT1 Offroad Wheels - Enkei is jumping into the Japanese SUV Offroad scence!


Were not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but does it seem like a lot of legendary tuner brands are jumping into the offroad market, particularity Toyota trucks and SUVs? Its great to see classic designs being adapted for offroad use.

Check out these awesome looking Enkei RPT1 Offroad Wheels - Only offered in 16x8 and 6x139.7, a perfect Toyota truck or SUV size! The Enkei RPT1 off-road wheel pays homage to the famous RPF1 wheel, by utilizing a similar twin-six-spoke style, while optimizing the design and sizing to make them perfect for Toyota truck use. Excellent strength analysis and design technology significantly improved the performance of their aluminum wheels by using Enkei's own MAT Flow Form Process with "knurling" to reduce tire slipping.


Enkei Japan Colors

Take advantage of this Enkei factory painted Japan-only color, which have never been introduced by Enkei on United States soil before. Previously only available in the Land of the Rising Sun, Enkei Japan painted each of these wheels alongside all of their other production wheels just for this batch. As an added relief, each color has been thoroughly tested, and approved by Enkei Japan’s strict quality control including rigorous salt spray tests.

What does that mean for you?

It means a tested, trusted, and treated finish unlike any other. Traditionally these wheels would need to be re-coated by a refinishing company to achieve these types of colors. Typically that means powder coating, which not only requires heating the wheel to a temperature that can compromise the integrity of the construction material, but also the finish is not tested or designed to outlast the elements.

Testing

Each of these wheels and its finish has been put through numerous salt spray and stress tests more rigorous than conventional standards. Enkei established its own test standard called “Spec-E,” which is tougher than JWL requirements. Enkei’s Spec-E test setting requires a higher drop point in the impact test and 20% more cycles for the rotary bending fatigue and dynamic radial fatigue tests than JWL standards. The Spec-E represents Enkei’s confidence in its technology and quality of Enkei wheels.

Whoa... I have been dreaming of an SBC 17" version of this wheel. I just had my 94 Supra turbo painted the same color as my 4Runner, and it has 18" RPF1's in SBC. Any pictures mounted?

Same! We most likely are going to put a set on one of our reps 4Runners here (1999).

Depending on the response, Enkei may release a 17" & 18" version, in more bolt patterns. This is their first release in the new RPT1 series.

I have a hunch many people will initially overlook these wheels. They appear to be the off road version of the RPF1. The RPF1s are classics in automotive racing due to their high strength and very low weight.

If the RPT1s have nearly the same specs as the RPF1s you will be able to significantly reduce unsprung weight and potentially offset the entire weight variance from the 265 to the 285. If memory serves me right the RPF1s were 18-20 pounds for an 18 inch wheel... When you compare that to 30-35 pounds most wheels weigh, its significant....and the RPF1s are tough as nails.


I'm betting within a couple of years these will be a go-to for the wheeling community. I believe they will be a strong competitor in the Toyota community that currently uses the lightweight SCS wheels...

i have the RPF1s on my Z. these are timeless wheels on a sports coupe, similar to TEs. not sure i'd run them on the 4runner tho.
