'92 auto trans/seperating transfer case

New to the site. Where can I get step by step instructions and warnings?
Does the trans seperate @ what I'll call the hi/lo selector. There appears to be only 2 bolts and the Hi/lo switch seems to need removal. Am I on the right path?

I've heard the only way to separate the two is to gut the transmission and unbolt the t case from inside.

Tranny probs or T case probs?

The Factory Service Manual has complete instructions, if you do some searching you can find one online.
