I'm new to T4R.org and the site won't let me start a new thread so I'm asking on this one:
Does anyone know if LH and RH lower ball joints for a 95 4Runner are interchangeable? They do have different part numbers. I've done the RH (passenger side) and I'm preparing to do the LH, but I see that I crossed up the parts - I installed the ball joint with LH part number on the RH side. Wondering if I need to rectify that or if they're really the same.
Thanks!

Pretty sure they're interchangeable. I bet the only difference is the angle of the zerk fitting or something minor like that. I carry spare parts when I go on a trip and I only one upper and one lower ball joint. Rock auto only listed either upper or lower, never a lower right or lower left.
That's my theory.

Thanks for the response. I believe you are right.
RockAuto gives Beck/Arnely alternate/OEM Part Number(s) 4334039245 and 4333039835 which are the OEM LH & RH part numbers.
Thanks for the tip.

I just bought my ‘95. Put a new fuel filter and TPS on it to get it to idle correctly (when it feels like it) but it’s Much better. It has rod knock so i’m going to replace the rod bearings to make it hold over without rebuilding the rest of the engine.

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

Went to the LKQ Pick your part for a few odds and ends. A door arm rest, some fasteners, oil gage sending unit and A-pillar trim. Pretty slim pickens at the two I went to. Stanton and Anaheim, CA.

Picked her up yesterday and registered her as mine today!! Wahoo! 1986 SR5 4x4 5 speed, I'm in love. Drove her home 250 miles without one hiccup, super impressed.

Dropped off the '92 for a paint job today to correct 25 years of sitting outside in the Colorado sun.

Got my Amazenar LED amber marker LED bulbs and installed in just front left-side marker for now because right-side housing is cracked and I don't want to expose my new LED's to So Cal winter (LOL!)
Significantly brighter than incandescent 194's, AND these could be installed in any polarity!
I also installed on our Corolla markers. I modified circuit so markers blink in synch with turn signals when markers are OFF, and they blink alternately with turn signals when markers are ON.
Well worth the $13 for 4 pieces. I plan to buy red ones for my rear markers, too.

Recently took my 88 out of storage and have been working out the kinks. Redid the front end: new steering joints all around, new V6 calipers and rotors, wheel bearings repacked.
I forgot how much work it is changing out rotors on this design!

Today I fought through my usual "normal start" procedures, rough running for about 15-25 seconds then smooth as normal.

Think you just sold me on 31x10.5's. Perfect size without going overboard. Supposedly a friend of a friend of mine has multiple 1st gens sitting as parts trucks. Im looking for the same shifter surround, if he has multiples i'll let you know.
