Ordered a new oil pan
I noticed some dripping after the last oil change, so took it back and sure enough they stripped the threads on the pan. Ordered a new pan, bolt, crush washers and some FIPG. Put it up on the ramps and took a look at what I was going to be doing next weekend!
Last weekend I played in the snow!

Nice truck! Looks like it's all there which is not always the case. I'm guessing you noticed my thrashed rig. In July it was stolen and they took it wheeling at the lake. Got it back 3 days later minus the winch, front bumper, wasted the hood, valance, passenger door and rocker panel including the trim. It could have been worse I did get it back and it runs as good as it did before they stole it.
Have fun with yours!

Gold Mountain Off-Road
Put her to work on Gold Mountain, Big Bear. Found the trail too much for stock on 31's without lockers .
Rode shotgun with friends to finish the run, and did another partial run to pick her up.

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

interesting mounting on the sliders.
Are they braced at all other than angled mounts? Hard to tell from the pics but if not i wouldn't trust them to support the weight of the truck.
Clean truck

Oh man, I remember when that was stolen and the BOL on Instagram. Glad you were able to get it back, bummer about the damage, I hate thieves.....

Installed Phoenix Graphics side and hood decals on my 1984. I also tried installing my Tundra wheels/tires but the 6to5 adapters don't fit over the manual hubs....

Today (and yesterday), I cleaned up the interior of my new rig. For how old it is, the mileage is low, and the driver’s seat is the only one with any wear, so the rest of the interior cleaned up nicely.
I’ve also started the long and arduous task of replacing every vacuum hose under the hood. There’s so many of them. Fortunately, they’re all labeled, so it’s just following the numbers and the lines. Really simple, just a lot of it. Hot tip for anybody else with a truck nearing 30 years old; those rubber vacuum hoses deteriorate. I was shocked how much thicker the new ones were and didn’t think they’d fit; but lo and behold, the old ones are just degraded and thin. New ones fit much better

Replaced no. 194 Halogen with LED Bulb Rear side-facing marker/turn signal light
Replaced no. 194 Halogen with LED Bulb on my side-facing marker/turn signal light.
Replaced Halogen Bulbs With LED - YouTube
I used this from Amazon:
ALOPEE 194 LED Bulb, Bright Red 168 LED Bulb, 921 2825 LED for T10 W5W 175 501 Non Polarity Replacement for License Plate Light Tail Map Dome Door Trunk Light 18SMD 3014 Chips, DC 12-24V,
Earlier I got Amazenar brand. They fit my amber fron corner marker/turn signals, but are too tall to fit in rear marker/turns.

Power mirror
I repaired my power mirror. Was lucky enough to still have the small piece that broke off of the housing. Disassembled bonded the broken mount and once again good to go.

Truck goes straight now!
New parts day! Finally got around to replacing the original 158k mile tie rods on my 93. A torch is almost mandatory for the job, at least if your car was originally from the east coast like mine was. All that rust just welds the tie rods into that tube clamp, and they do not want to move without a lot of encouragement.
But after enough heat, they come out, new ones went in easily, and came with new nuts and cotter pins which is nice. Grease fittings suck though, the ones that came with the inner tie rods absolutely did not work, so I just pulled the ones off the outer and screwed them into the inner to get the grease in. Worked like a charm, and then after four or five attempts, I managed to get the steering wheel tracking straight and the truck feels fantastic! It wasn’t terrible before, but it’s made a huge improvement over that.
