Rear window problem - 1990 4Runner - motor works but window wont move
Hey guys,
Wondering if you could help me find out what is the likely problem with the rear window on my 1990 4Runner so I can figure out if its a job I can do myself or I need to take it to the auto electrician.
So sometimes the window works and other times it doesn't. I know its not a problem with the switch at the drivers seat because I can hear a click at the rear window when I press the up button. So it appears the motor is responding to the switch but it wont actually move the window. After a few minutes of me pressing the button the motor in engages and it goes up fine.
When the tailgate is down and I try to put the window up it makes a beep sound through the stereo and when I try to put it up when its closed just a click of the motor no beep so I have ruled out that its not going up because it thinks that the door is open.
Any ideas on what the problem might be, the cost to repair and if this is a fairly easy repair job or not??
