I have a full set of running boards from a 95 Limited. They have the chrome accents and all mounting hardware.

I will sell them to you for $75 + shipping.

Here's one solution to your problem--throw out the boards altogether, and you won't have to worry about the trim. If you intend to go offroad much, running boards are just big obstacle-magnets, and will eventually get mutilated. Make tubular steel rocker protectors/steps part of your project instead. Of course, if you're bulding a street-only rig, then running boards are just fine. Just an idea.

No, no, no. Buy mine. I need the room in my garage. Plus, they really help when washing the roof.

(picture a sheepish facial expression) Oops! Didn't intend to run off a potential customer, Levinz! My advice stays the same, but hopefully he really wants running boards anyway, and you can make a buck. I'll be quiet now...

do away with the whole running boards, looks 10 times better, gives it a lifted look, and they get in the way if you go offroading, as the other guy said.
