Some things to check?

Ok I've posted a couple times about my issues but I still haven't been able to pin point the problem. So here we go again...

Vehicle: 92 runner 5 speed
Engine: 3.0 V6 with 176k miles

Problem: I was driving down the road doing about 60 mph in 5th when I begin to slow to make my turn I switch down to 2nd get back on the gas and I suddenly have little power so I switch down to 1st and still nothing I then pull over to check things out but it's idling really rough and seems like its gonna die so I get back on the road and start the 5 minute drive home I'm now having to hold to the floor to get it at 45 in 4th I make it home shut it off and
start it back up and it will barely stay fired up. Now when I start it up ( if i can get it started) every time I hit the gas it dies.

What the hell is going on? I'm gonna get back at it tomorrow and I really need some help on this so please list me some things to check on it. I checked for codes but none are showing up. Thanks in advance!

I would try Yotatech. The knowledge there would be more timely, and most likely better.

check the following
ignition
TPS calibration
fuel filter
Timing belt/chain

first thing that came to mind for me was fuel filter unless your getting smoke or coolant out the exhaust then it could be head gasket

I would test fuel pressures(running and rest). It sounds as if the fuel is not at the proper pressure(bad regulator, clogged filter, faulty pump, etc..). You might check the battery and alt(check charge while at idle and while under load).

It has a new fuel pump and filter. The head gasket is a real possibility because I do recall thinking to myself one of the times it did start that there was abnormal white smoke and water coming from the exhaust. But the coolant levels are normal

At a minimum, I would install a new regulator(about $70) with the new pump. The ethanol in the petrol today along with the strong pressure will usually dry, or blow out an old rubber diaphragm in the regulator.
The white smoke is not a great sign(can be head gasket failure). You might pull the spark plugs and see if they are burning any coolant. It should be evident as to what cylinder(s).

I just pulled two plugs they both appear to be "burnt" and they have oil on them

Keep the plugs in order so you know what cylinders are acting accordingly. You might post a pic of all 6 so the forum can take a look. See what the rest look like and go from there. It helps to see what all the cylinders are doing. If the plugs look pretty bad(oil fouling, coolant burning, etc..), you might consider a compression test and coolant pressure test to confirm. Has the truck had the factory Toyota Head gasket recall done?

Just found Oil in the coolant that I didn't notice before so it looks like a head gasket. I was just about to ask about the recall. Does anybody know anything about it?

Call, or go into a dealer with your VIN, and they will check and see if the truck has had it before. The dealer was nice enough to do ours years back.
