Just came across a LS400 with some rear end damage, gonna check to see if it's going to be worth getting as a donor.

You can use either of the three. The 4Runner Custer would have been the easiest to use. I used the sc400 cluster because I loved the idea of the modern look.

The body is on the way for total restoration. Going with titanium metallic from 4th gen 4runners.

No ecu modifications are necessary, the ecu can compensate for the additional fuel for the 5 or 6lbs of boost (less depending on your altitude). I had to add bigger injectors to deliver the additional fuel, but that's it. The fuel pump is from the sc400 so no worries there. To get the most power from the setup, it would be best to replace the factory ecu with a stand alone, but that's not necessary to stay around 400hp.

Nice Build! (I have the same 4Runner 3.0 5spd, and I love it)
You know, how many LPH (fuel pump sc400)?
The 5VZ fuel pump for the 1UZ, works well anyway?
regards

Time for an update
It's been slow going, since I'm not doing the fabrication myself, I rely on the experts and a big project usually gets pushed to the side for smaller well paying projects Thanks to Dous for riding along with me to check up on my project last weekend! A lot of things still underway, I have two vehicles, I took the body off one to work on the chasis while the other body was at the bodyshop. Once the bodywork is done, I'll take that body off and put it on the Solid Axle Swapped Chasis. we fitted the entire drivetrain and made the clearance for the steering. Motor is fitted and mounts are in. The engine is being torn down to replace all gaskets and seals, starter contacts, sensors, and then the heads are being ported to open them up a bit. Supercharger Cams are going in along with better Valve Springs. I'm in contact with a tuner for the standalone ems to run this beast. Didn't want to use factory ECU because I wanted no complications with the 5 spd, I wanted to use the Ford Cobra throttle body, and I wanted a good tune. Let's just hope the transmission hold up. Keep you updated as I know more.

Progress! Saw this thread and was really hoping for an update. Just curious, why can't you use the stock cluster and just splice the two harnesses together?

As far as I know, the stock cluster will work and has worked for some. I personally love the sc400 cluster and I went with it solely for asthetical reasons. Later I thought it was a good idea to keep the redline the same as it should be. The 1uz redlines around 6500 and the sr5 cluster at like 5500.

Awesome! Glad to see the updates. Could you post good pics of the motor mounts? I need some idea of what I need to do. Also, what headers are those? I plan to keep my engine stock and am hoping to run the factory LS400 ecm.

email me and I'll send you some photos I took. The headers are 2uz tundra headers, china ebay versions.

Made some progress. I tore the heads off the engine to have them completed. Porting them, installing Kelford 207-SC cams for the supercharged engine, lextreme heavy valve springs, and new valve seals. Also picked up rear main seal, crank seal, head gaskets, intake gaskets, denso remaned starter, bearings for the idler pulleys, and some Marlin Crawler Billet steering arms. I lost my steering arms somehow and found a guy selling a used set for a good deal so I upgraded! Also, a little head gasket info for anybody researching this, the pre 98 non VVTI 1uz head gaskets are not MLS but the 98+ head gaskets are, so rather than buy expensive aftermarket MLS gaskets, just pick up a set of OEM 98+ VVTI 1uz head gaskets, I think I paid $80 for both from sewell lexus. I know I have a lot of parts but trust me, I have saved thousands from used parts and doing my reserarch and shopping around. I buy used when I can and it makes sense and then use promo codes for everything new! Anyway, here's a pic of the supercharger placed on the engine.
