Im in Idaho just outside of Boise. Google says it should take me just over 11 hours to get to Moab. This sounds like an awsome idea. I can't commit for another couple of months... probably July before I know for sure. I will be keeping it in mind fo sho. My rig is an 87' and she's bone stock on 235s. Hope I can hang with you guys!

Half the routes out there are more scenic than brutal, and with a group, we could always strap people across a few rough spots. The main thing is just getting out there, because it really is a beautiful area, one not to be missed if it can be helped. We can work with stock rigs!

I'm gonna plan to get there on the 9th. It look like everyone that mentioned dates was good with wheeling the weekend but some others mentioned wanting add a few extra days. I'm in the extra days boat, it's gonna take me 2 days to get there, so I was thinking getting there earlier in the week.
I hope a few others can join somewhere around the 10th as well. Best part is we are so early with the planning we can tweak it if we need to. Are you better with the next week? I though I had you down for 12th through the 15th but I may have put that down wrong.

I must have missed those trails!
As always TrailDamage.com - All Trails has great reviews on trails. And the Wells book is awesome. I have put the Traildamage ratings in my Wells book.

11 hours? No way, more like 9. It's 4 hours from Salt Lake to Moab, and I do Salt Lake to Boise in 5.

Some more great video of Moab can be seen on Rick Russell's Sidekick Offroad DVDs. Naturally, these guys are taking the toughest trails, so you can see what the most difficult stuff looks like. For those with stock rigs, have no fear, though--there are plenty of great, scenic trails without the higher difficulty ratings. If you can swing it, however, I would highly recommend at least one locker--it will greatly increase the number of trails you can take, even in an otherwise stock rig. The slickrock out there, which is anything BUT slick (it's more like sandpaper...at least when dry, anyway), can give you incredible traction when you air down--it will blow your mind how steep of an angle you can drive up! For the record, Pritchett Canyon is widely considered the toughest trail, so if you see video of that one, you've seen some of the best obstacles out there.
