Unless you are doing serious rock-crawling, I'd go with IFS. Put some good AT 31's or 33's on it and don't worry about a lift. These old 1st and 2nd gens have more clearance stock than later models with a 3" lift. Texas is a big state, and I'm guessing you'll be doing a lot of highway miles at 70+ mph just getting to your hunting grounds. The IFS will be significantly smoother and more stable for that.
