I've had my 4runner for about 2 months now and it's holding up pretty well so it's about time to start adding some stuff to it. I dont do any hard core offroading just go to the creeks and fish pretty much everyday i'm off. But some of the places i go are a little rough so i'd like to build some stuff for it, instead of buying it cause my wife goes to college i have 3 kids and i'm the only one that works right now and i'm poor...lol... But anyway i was wondering if anyone on here has built any front/rear bumpers or roof racks...i've looked but havent really found any. I'm pretty innovative but if someone has already built something and can give me some tips it'll save me about a week of just looking at it figuring out what and how i'm doing to do something before i do it...lol...i'd like something to put my fishing poles and stuff on/in so theyre not hanging over my back seat and a spare tire carrier...i can weld and bend metal tubing as long as it's not too thick...any ideas would be helpful...thanks alot...oh and my 4runner is a 93 4wd 3.0 5 speed with a pro camo paint job...pretty slick if i can figure out how to get pics on here from my work computer...lol
all i do is make my own stuff.
you will want to buy some things the 4x4 inovations has the rear bumper brackets that make building easy.
as for the fishing rod holders i made a drop down braket that bolts to the my topper holes but you have a 2nd gen so someone else will know better.
welcome and lets see some pictures!!!
Yes, check out 4x Innovations, they have brackets for front and rear DIY bumpers. Also look at CBI, they've got (or will have shortly?) a complete DIY bumper, all you have to do is weld.
wow thats the first time i've seen that 4x innovations website...theyve got some badass stuff on there thats not priced bad...hell every other website ive seen has bumpers for like 6 or 700 plus
