I don't know that there is a dedicated fuse for it. It see in the FSM that the rear window system is tied into the ignition system through a couple of fuses but if your 4Runner is cranking/running then they are obviously good. The only fuse boxes are the one in the driver kick panel, the one behind the glove box and the one in the engine bay. I don't remember ever seeing a dedicated fuse for the "Power Window and Wiper Relay" If I am mistaking, someone will speak up, I promise.

Have you done anything different to the truck? Taken the top off or anything? If the bolt for the top sensor on the rail is installed, 2nd bolt from the rear on the left side, then I would think your relay went bad. It is in the B Post behind the driver seat. A light tap on it might make it reset and then you would know that it is bad.

Look for a circuit breaker in the driver kick panel. It should have a hole in it that you can use a needle to reset it. It is mentioned on page BE-3 of the FSM and it is the second step in the "rear window not working" trouble shooting steps listed on BE-46. The first says to check the fuse, but I am still thinking that it is the ignition fuse.

Does the rear wiper work? If not take a look at the wiper fuse. I've never tried to trouble shoot the rear window system but the wiper fuse is in the mix according to the Electrical Manual. Also, I am assuming that the back door light is not on correct? I know you can use a flat tip on the left side tailgate latch to "trick" it into thinking the gate is closed so you can work on it with the gate open.

You can take some jumpers from the battery to the rear window motor and attach the positive to the Blue with Black Stripe and ground the Blue with Yellow Stripe to a vehicle ground and it should go up. This would at lease tell you that your motor did not go out.

Rear window does use a Ckt Brkr.
Does it not work using both console switch and tail gate switch?
In addition to the CB and Engine fuse, there is also a relay board that controls operation of the rear window.

Look at all the commons first. The CB (reset with needle) motor (jump it) the wiper fuse (maybe) and the relay (tap test) in the B Post. I know the key switch and the center console switch are independent cause my center switch is completely disconnected and my key switch works just fine. I haven't been able to figure out why the center console switch is not working yet.

Ok first, have you checked to see if the key switch in the tailgate works? Put your key in, turn and hold to the left for up or turn and hold to the right for down. I thought you had mentioned that it didn't work with either switch meaning the console and the key. My mistake.

If the key doesn't work then you will have to figure out whether it is because the motor is shot or the switch or a couple of other things. Lets start with finding out if the key works though.

With the key in the ACC position and the radio on, it is possible that there is supposed to be a "hot" relay in the driver kick panel. I would bet that one of them would get hot but without knowing which one I couldn't guess.

When you were in the kick panel did you check the Circuit Breaker? Look in my earlier post for the FSM reference. It is a round CB that should have a little hole in it for a reset.

Since you have never tried the rear wiper before but you know it is not working now it could be one of two things. Either the wiper never worked or the wiper fuse is blown and it somehow is tied to the rear window power. I'm not a hundred percent sure that it is tied but according to the diagram it may be. Have you checked the fuse? Can you manually move the rear wiper up any? It needs to be fully up for the rear window to work.

Have you tried the tap test on the relay that is in the Driver B Pillar?

Have you jumped the motor?

Have you taken a look at the FSM that was referenced in my above post? There are a lot of things it could be but until you start knocking some of these off the list it is going to be hard to tell.

This a common malfunction on the 1st Gen 4Runner. There are lot of topics on the subject in this and other forums. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything but there is a reason why this thread has been viewed 96 times and only myself and "fourwd1" have responded. Judging from your earlier "Took the top off now rear window doesn't work" and your "Rodeo rim" post you don't seem to do much searching for yourself. Google, the Google Search Bar at the top of this page and the Search Function on this page as well are your friends.

Make a list of all the things I have posted (key switch, top sensor, rear wiper movement, rear wiper fuse, CB in kick panel, tap test, jump the motor) and let us know how each of these works out for you. BUT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, LOOK AT THE STICKY AT THE TOP OF THE CLASSIC SECTION POSTS, DOWNLOAD THE FSM AND DO SOME LIGHT READING IN THE BODY ELECTRICAL SECTION. I have already done the hard part and given you the page numbers.

i did do searches on all those items. for what ever reason ive never been able to find anything on the web without hours put into it. idk maybe im just dumb. i searched this site as well prior to posting this. the key will not work because the tailgate was replaced by the prior owner. so my key wont work it. i did not try the reset i will tomorrow. i could not find it nor did i have the time to do so today. i have not jumped the motor either. also this truck had an alarm system put in so whom ever did it put the box right behind it and wires are everyplace. the alarm system doesnt work right anyway so its just annoying. im sorry to make you put all this down ike i said when it comes to finding things on the web im stupid. thanks again. i will post as to what happens tomorrow if i can find this cb.

I'm sure your NOT too dumb to do it. Maybe you just need some pointers on the subject. I should have offered up some searching advice before I assumed anything.

Take a look at the pictures below. This is how I generally search topics. When using Google to search a site that I am not registerd for I type "search yototech.com: 3.4 swap" Just change the site name and subject to whatever you want.

Here are the results I got when I did the search for the pictures below.

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/search...archid=2146994

Let us know how your checks on the window go. After hearing that there are a lot of wires for an alarm I am a little concerned that something there might have been connected to the system, but we can go down that road later if needed.

I had a wire break on mine once at the connection at the motor, probably best to take off the panel and look at it. There might be a fuse there as well.

Mine ended up being the connections: I traced all the wires and all the connections > cleaned them > dielectric grease > reconnected.

Turned out that it resolved a whole host of problems.
