grinding/crunchy sound from drivers side on hard left turn

1986 4runner 22re 5spd bone stock I'm looking at buying. When I turn the wheels almost to lockout left I hear a grinding noise. Truck continues to move and doesn't FEEL like its binding. Any thoughts? Is it common for tires to rub or am I looking more at a suspension component? Here's a photo to see tire size:

Other than that this rig drives really well. Shifts smooth through all gears, no tranny whine, brakes stop firm, only noise from motor that I can hear is soft injector ticking. The body has some rust spots where there are a couple dings, but I don't see rust in the wheel wells or any evidence of other body or frame rust. It looks like there may have been a roof rack on the hardtop at some point and the mounting holes were filled in, and those areas could use some paint. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks

Were the hubs unlocked? I'd call it a bad CV, but they shouldn't be turning if it's manual hubs. Maybe a steering stop, look at the knuckles and arms and see if there's any shiny spots where it's rubbing.

Could be the turn stops. They have plastic caps on them that are known for falling/cracking off.
