That was one nasty mess in the tank! No wonder it wouldn't stay running, with all those chunks being pulled up against the inlet and shutting off the flow. Glad to see you got her running good!

It's actually coming straight out of the back of the turbo. There is no downpipe yet. The exhaust will likely be 2.5" back, high flow cat, and simple catback with a dump before the axle.

Haha well considering it's only covered 18 miles since 2009... probably a lot better!

Especially with that screen missing. Can't believe how bad it was. You should have seen the rust corrosion (I forgot, CA rust isn't like real rust). Took several washes out with water and air drying to clear that out.
Thanks Bob!
On another note, I did a CarFax report on the truck. Turns out I'm the 4th owner. Makes me wonder how the hell a truck of this age managed to avoid collision with 3 other owners. Also, the truck's last recorded odometer mileage was in 2006, at 259,000. It was last registered in 2009. It's clear from the emissions tests that whoever last smogged it did not do it legally. This thing was failing smog tests left and right back then.
When I picked it up at 264,584, I thought it had only been sitting for 3 years. If it only covered 5k between 2006-2009, and then sat from 2009-2012, this thing has 6 years of sitting under it's belt.
The truck hit 200k in 1995!!!!

LOL I just wrote a paper about her stupid ass, too! How relevant. Except my truck doesn't look as beat as she does
So this truck had an old AIWA double din stereo in it, dated October 2001. The tires also from that time... looks like someone spent a few dollars for parts back in late 2001.
My friend John sold his 96 T100 5spd 4x4 last weekend and took out his Alpine radio. He was gonna give the buyer the radio, but I kinda threw a wrench in between the spokes of that deal lol.
Here's how... John didn't like the Alpine because the buttons were too small. Says he hates using the damn thing because he's got big fingers and the screen is too bright. I told him I would buy it off of him if he's willing to tell the buyer of the truck that it didn't work.
Well he didn't let me buy it from him. He said if he was going to keep it, he would put it in his 85 solid axle pickup (which he turned into a turbo and swapped in an R151F). Then he saw my AIWA in the truck, with it's big buttons and dim display.
Long story short, he likes his new radio and I sure as hell like mine. In fact, it's the exact same model as the one in my 3rd gen. It even has the exact same iPod cable. Looks like I need another old iPod to leave in the glovebox. I also need to buy another DIN pocket but right now I don't care.
Any Pearl Jam fans?

Also had to change the 5/8" line from the oil cooler. Started leaking like crazy right after the video of the first start. A couple pics with my brother's (cool brother, not the same dipshit who can't fix his truck) Porsche Carrera 4S. Only has 25k on the ODO.

if you place a wood board on the bottom of the battery, you wont have to use a spacer on the top. this way people wont know

I'll try to get the exhaust made soon, but I just bought a clutch for my other car and things might move slowly.
I haven't gone through the steps of the swap yet, but from the looks of things, doesn't seem like there should be any difficulty, even with the auto ECU. I'll find out and let ya know someday.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Today marks the 1st year. I brought this truck home May 17, 2012.
The top is pretty bad. The fiberglass is pitted. Thought about sanding and filler primer and all that... but my goal is a soft top someday. Don't really care that much about the hardtop. Hell, I don't even like the ghetto tint on the side windows or the cracked up wiper motor cover. Taking it on and off sucks donkey balls.
SEM Trim Black.

After it dried, flipped it upside down and put it on a blanket to fix the headliner. Glued it back with some 3M trim adhesive.

Pics of the truck with the top installed tomorrow. I didn't have the help of a buddy to put the top back on until it was dark.
In the meantime, pics of it topless
