the 3.0 is a ****.

worse with an auto, and larger tires.
thats not to say there isnt something wrong, but you cant expect much from that engine.

Let me rephrase.. I run a 3.0 5spd. The 3.slo is an extremely reliable engine, but it does lack high end power so it can take a min to hit 60, its not designed as s speed demon. But, its wonderful with low end power & can tackle any challenge. But if it feels as if it completely lacks anything, how does she ride? Any check engine codes?

When i did a compression test on my engine, my guy told me that: If you feel the engine is under powered, or your exhaust is blue. Than you probably have compression problems.
But my 3L doesnt have comp. problems and it is still gutless up hills haha

Well my exhaust isn't blue but pretty rusty. I don't know if it has compression problems or not but i am gonna do a test on it.
I was gonna put a tps on it but I read that you have to adjust it you can't just plug it in and go?

Also my on a 94 should I have a obd port to read codes I can't find one to save my life?

Last but not least the oil pressure gauge isn't working on the dash I went to autozone to buy a new oil pressure switch to put in that screws in block and all they had was the one that screwed into With dummy light

What cause rear abs light to come on dash? Just bought and trying to fix everything

He meant blue smoke coming from the exhaust. Not the color of the exhaust piping.

I'd do a compression test, make sure each cylinder is optimal. Shes not over heating or anything right? These engines are very reliable but have a soft spot in the head gasket.

Keep in mind that your opinion of gutless is different than others. I have a beefed up 22re motor, I think it's gutless and pathetic but others think it's pretty good.

If you do a compression test, leakdown test, and your motor is generally healthy then your motor is putting out what it was designed to put out. You may not have a problem other than that you (myself included) want more power!

Toyota 4Runner and Pickup: Cheap Tricks
how to pull codes

Define gutless lol..tire size, trans, timing have a lot to do with it feeling gutless

IMHO in a 2gen 4runner I like my 3vze over a 22re stock vs stock..I personally feel the 3vze pulls harder off the line than the 22re in the 4runner but that's just me
