Thanks. I had just washed off the tank before installing the new f-pump and seal(see pic).



The truck also got a new regulator and injector reseal which really improved the trucks performance. Darn ethanol, along with age is doing a number on the fuel systems to these older vehicles.

Good call on the fuel line idea, baffle had me stumped too. To get power to the pump with key at "run" position jump FP and +B in the diag box, bypasses your circuit opening relay/AFM signal.

why are you dropping your tank??? if its to remove the fuel pump, cut a hole under the back seat on the passenger side...

1992 gas tank has a drain plug...for future reference.


Ethanol sucks. Turns gas gel with age...great idea there feds...

want to re-open this thread. I have an 01 runner 3rd gen and was wondering how to remove the fuel from the tank. Is through the filler hose way the best option? I've read there is a baffle. I have about 1/2 tank of fuel in the tank and that's heavy for my standards. My jack could hold the weight of the tank but ill be doing this job myself so a fairly empty tank would be great. Any ideas?
