Thumbs up

Fixed mine this way this morning. Cables were $4 each, knarps were $6 for a 2-pack. Bike cables had a ball on the end, which needs to go into the "splitter" box on the toy. That end requires more of a barrel-shaped end. Good news is the ball is larger than the barrel and it's fairly soft metal so it only takes a few minutes to file it into the shape you need. Whole job took under an hour once you have all the parts. If I was just swapping out a factory-cable figure 20 minutes.

Not anymore. Just paid over $80 for a used one on eBay.

Wish I had bought a few when I worked for Toyota.

This part is still readily available, here's the part number 72210-89105. It typically runs 35 buck online 72210-89105 - Genuine Toyota CABLE ASSY, SEAT TRACK CONTROL

I know this post is "archival" now, but thank you for taking the time to put this information together. I just recently purchased an '86 SR5 and the passenger seat cables are broken...I'll be putting this tutorial to work in short order.

Thanks

I'm new to this forum, early in the process of restoring an '88. Just wanted to say thanks for this info - I got the parts and fixed the seat in about 30 mins this evening. Thank you!
