compression test done, don't know about the results
i did a compression test on my 1995 4runner with the 3vze engine. compression test as follows:
cylinder 1: 150psi
cylinder 2:165psi
cylinder 3: 155psi
cylinder 4:170psi
cylinder 5:155psi
cylinder 6:165psi
all the cylinders on the passenger side are lower than the cylinders on the drivers side. does this mean i likely have a blown head gasket?? any info would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Those are all within acceptable range from what I know, but the lower compression on one side may indicate a possible head gasket issue. Do a "block test" -http://compare.ebay.com/like/221147093962?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar - if it fails, you can investigate the head gasket and go ahead and replace. If it passes then your head gasket is probably just fine.
Are you using coolant? Seeing white smoke in the morning for a long period of time?

yes, i'm losing coolant as well as seeing the dreaded white smoke... i noticed a bit of green liquid (likely coolant) in cylinder 3 spark plug, but none of the other plugs had it...

ouch.... burn! lol i have no issues with this engine, just stuff is going bad all at once and i have no money for repairs. and normally i'd do the work myself since i'm pretty handy, but this is a pretty big job, especially after i changed out all my heater hoses and radiator and water pump... that was a PITA...

GOOGLEFIGHT!
"22re reliable" vs.
"3vze reliable".

It's a great motor, we just enjoy flicking a little crap now and again. Sorry for hijacking your thread with it.

LOL what's the point. they both suck monkey balls.
That is unfortunate but it does sound like an internal leak of the head gasket.

Working on the 3.0 is a pain, but if you fix it right you can get another 150,000 miles out of it.
