Radiators
My 94 4Runner still has the factory radiator and it looks pretty corroded inside. I also used some stop leak a few months ago and still regret it. Think the stop leak plugged up my radiator a bit. All I can seem to find are plastic/aluminum radiators to replace it. Will these still cool as well as the factory unit? Is there a particular brand that's better than the other?

Do u have a good radiator shop in ur area? I pulled mine and had it rodded out. It was like less than $50. Keep the original Toyota part if u can.

See if you can find a Modine or Go-Dan/Trans Pro to fit.
They are better quality.

"Stop-leak" anything is horrible IMO. I just think it puts a bandaid on things and causes more problems in the long run.
I would just have a radiator shop look at it, like has been said. The factory copper core ones are the best. I think you can get an OE toyota radiator for around $450 shipped.

Posted same question bout 6 months ago and decided to replace the original with the alum/plastic radiator for about a 3rd of the cost, so far, works fine and I have not had any heating issues.

I use the 4runner strickly for town and freeway travel, only 4 wheeling when it becomes necessary. If the 4runner is used often for 4 wheeling then may want to consider a heavy duty replacement??? Purchased the radiator thru Napa Auto, imagine these radiators are produced by same company and distributed to various part suppliers???
