It's either the starter relay or the starter solenoid itself. Some reading for you: Final fix for intermittent no-crank on the 22re.

Short story - turn the key to on, just before the crank position. Use a wire to jump your positive battery stud straight to the stud on the starter solenoid. If this starts your truck, then a) if your truck doesn't have a factory starter relay, do the fix I detailed in that thread, or b) if it does have a factory relay, follow the link to RADs fix.

If jumping the battery to the solenoid doesn't start the truck, then it's not a wiring issue, it'll be trouble in the solenoid or starter itself. Probably the solenoid, which can be rebuilt for just a couple bucks.

I'm sure you already checked this but make sure your battery did not die. You said you did not turn the truck all the way off and pulled the key out. This could left the radio on until the battery died. Good luck

Ok fellas I was looking at my runner and I saw these. I know very little about them to be honest. All I know is they are good to have lol. If someone could shed some info on this for me I'd greatly appreciate it. What is their purpose? when should I lock them and unlock them? thanks!

Those are your manual locking hubs for your 4wd system. You should lock them before engaging 4wd and then unlock them before getting back out onto the road to drive any considerable distance in 2wd. It is however okay to leave them in the lock position when going between 2wd and 4wd on the trail. These differ from most modern light duty trucks and SUVs that have automatic hubs. In my opinion (any most off road guys/if not all) manual hubs are better than automatic locking hubs. Just be mindful that when you lock the front hubs and are in 4wd you will not want to have your wheels cranked all the way to one side or another while moving.

This is designed for you to manually select whether you want your hub to free wheel (dis-engaged from drive axle) or lock (engaged with drive axle).
Covered in user's manual but, only lock IF you want to use 4WD (4Lo or 4Hi). Don't forget to unlock when not needing 4WD. Otherwise your drive axles will spin with the hubs/wheels, causing too much drag, unnecessary wear on axle and also your CV joint & boots.
BTW, in case you have another starting issue, this this Special Service Tool Helps diagnose whether problem is from solenoid and downstream or from the solenoid control wire and upstream.
I a pinch, would also help you start even without an assistant.

A picture paints a thousand words.
Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

Yep! If Landruisers had this, the day-to-day gas mileage would surely improve.

Guys I have a question regarding my manual locking hubs. When I go change a wheel or just wanna take the tire off, will the tire come off if I just take off the bolts like normal or do I have to take off the bolts for that as well?
