Thanks. I think I over thought every thing I did to it lol. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now I'm just ready to use it some more lol

Its been a little while since an update. Im currently getting this thing ready to go to Colorado for the trail riding next week. Ive built a rear bumper, added hood louvers, added an army can center console, and started working on a new front driveshaft using a marlin long slip.

After we get back from our trip, Im going to build some sliders and get the AC working in this thigng

Well long time since an update. The trip to Colorado was interesting. Adjustment nut on the steering box came loose some how, which resulted in a lot of lost fluid and Im pretty sure a ruined steering box. The trans cooler isn't quite enough to keep it cool in the mountains, so that needs to be upgraded. And last but not least, it died while taking pics at Engineer pass and would not start back up (interesting trip back down the mountain with no power). After getting back to Louisiana, I figured out it was the crank sensor that went out.

Since getting back, Ive been collecting parts to upgrade my steering and transmission cooler. Im replacing the power steering pump, gear box, and adding hydro assist. Im also adding an external reservoir for it. Im going to add another in-line trans cooler with a fan under the hood. To do that I have to relocate the airfilter and coolant tank. The airfilter I will be moving it do the back driverside corner under the hood (already done).

My transmission decided to add a few more neutrals to it a couple weeks ago, so I guess its getting rebuilt again. While its out, I plan to add twin sticks to the tcase and relocate all of the drivetrain to help with passenger side up travel. Then the other day I came across a e-locker with fresh 5.29 gears, so I guess Im going to regear also lol.

My to-do list has been stacking up. I don't really have a place to work on it a the moment, but as soon as this weather dries up around here, I will be starting to build a shop. So hopefully in a couple months, Ill be able to start to get this thing back on the road.

Heres some pics to go along with the last post.

Getting it cleaned up for the Colorado trip. I also nut and bolted it after it was clean.

Great build!
Question on your hood vents, obviously rain would get through them but how much other crap gets in.
I have a set I bought for my last project I was debating about installing on my 94 to help vent heat.

Thanks. I haven't noticed anything else getting in other than rain.

Well I haven't done much of anything to the 4runner lately. I did get another elocker, but I will have to regear this one myself. I was going to wait to rebuild the trans myself, but now Im thinking about pulling it and having it redone since it will be a few months before I can do it (about to start dirt work for shop).

Yesterday a buddy of mine sent me a facebook marketplace ad for some tires. I needed new ones anyways sooo…

I picked up these 38.5x14.5 TSL SX for a pretty good deal in my opinion. I was wanting to go with some 37 TSL SSR but these may do for now. If not, Ill sell or trade these. Although I really like how it looks with them on there.

Update time, although not much of one. At the beginning of May I pulled the trans and took it to be fixed. I also took my ECM to be tuned by the same people. Three weeks later I get the trans and ECM back (after some lack of call backs and updates). So I spent a couple evenings and got it ready to drive this past Saturday only to find out I have almost the same exact issue still. Shop says I need to check the 12v power going to it, but Im not too sure about that. I haven't had the chance to check it yet tho, been busy forming for the slab for my new shop.

I did order a twin stick from FROR back on April 30th. After some lack of communication from them and then wrong information from them, Im prolly still 2 weeks out on getting it. I did modify the tcase while I had it out to be prepared for it tho.

Finally got the 4runner back yesterday. The shop that worked on the trans asked me to bring the whole thing to them to diagnose. They never could figure it out so they built me another trans. Have a few minor details to fix from them but the trans is now working properly. I still haven't got my twin stick in. Im almost to the point of asking for my money back and going with a trail gear setup. During the 4th sale, I picked up a set of 5.29s so I can regear the 2nd elocker. SO as soon as Im done building my shop, Ill get on getting this thing regeared along with a long list of other things lol.

Heres a pic of the shop Im building. Its a 40x50x14 with a 20 lean-to. Most of the frame for the building is up. I just poured the slab for the lean-to last weekend, so Ill get the remaining frame up and then start with the insulation and tin.

We found its much nicer working at night lol.

I canceled my order on Monday with FROR for there twin stick after 15 weeks because they still hadnt cut the base plate yet. I know the forward shift kits aren't as popular, but I was tired of waiting. My TG twin stick showed up yesterday and I installed it. I got all the little issues the shop caused fixed and the 4runner is doing good. Just need to get them 5.29s installed. It doesn't care too much for the 38.5s with 4.88s lol.

Sick shop!!!

New tires on the runner are sweet too! Thats an awesome size. I parked next to a 38x13 sx and it dwarfed my 38x12.5 tsl.

Thanks. I can’t wait for the shop to be done. I’ve got a long list of stuff to do lol

And thanks. Those are tires are huge for sure. The width is nice.

Upgraded the "oh shit" handle on the passenger side and added one to the driver side. The threaded holes are under the headliner. I just popped the trim off and pull the headliner down so I could see the holes.

After driving it around this weekend, I realized I need to upgrade the trans cooler a sooner rather than later. I will prolly try to work on that some this week when I have time.
