Thanks. The only bad part about those shock compressors is they burn easy when tacking shock mounts. So use cheap straps lol.

I guess I should give a little update. I got the brake situation fixed. I replaced the rotor and knuckle. I also installed Dave'z shackles on the front springs. They were a little bit of a pain to install, but I think I can do it a little easier next time. After driving it for a couple days, the front spring bushings gave up. Did I mention that TG's spring bushings suck? lol. I have some energy suspension bushings coming to replace those. Im also going to run a sleeve in them like the Dave'z shackle setup so all my bolts will be the same size. Here's some pics...
Dave'z shackle
And the wore out front spring bushings

Still haven't fixed those front bushings yet, but I did take it out on a buddies lease Saturday.
Hoping to get it back in the shop to replace those bushings and build a front driveshaft this week.

Nice looking runner. I am planning the same swap this winter. What all did you need from the donor truck besides the engine computer and harness? What emission control crap did you have to swap over? I dont have to take my runner through emissions anymore (it's to old thank god) so i don't exactly need them but just wondering if any of the crap was needed to get the engine to fire and run smooth. Nice build

Thanks. Im not sure what all I posted on this thread, but I deleted all the emissions. We don't do emissions testing in Louisiana. Really, just the engine, harness, and computer is about it. What transmission are you planning on running?

So how did you eliminate the emission controls? Do you just use like an EGR block off plate and plug the vacuum hoses? Thats the only thing i am trying to figure out how to get around since now i have a wiring guy to help me wire the engine. What all did you leave in ur 4runner? Sorry ill be picking your brain for help. I am going to subscribe to your build though since you are doing about the same thing I am and its one hell of a runner. Im not totally decided yet on my trans. I want to keep it manual. Not sure if i am going to go with a chevy trans or use the toyota one. I think im going to end up using a chevy trans and transfer though. I kinda only want to have to build it once. If all i have to do is eventually go to a small block thats easy if i already have the chevy trans. I was thinking about useing an old school 4speed with the granny gear since they are solid and my runner is going to be on a trailer once i do my SAS more than likely. Im looking into doing 1ton axles.

Yeah I used a EGR block off plate and a plug for the EGR tube that goes into the intake. I had the computer reprogrammed to delete the emissions controls. The only vacuum hose was the on the solenoid going to the evap canister. I just left that solenoid on there unplugged for now. The only unresolved item I have left from the emission delete is what to do with the gas tank vent that went to the evap canister. Ive had a few ideas but haven't done anything yet. Of course, all this applies to the 96 and up engines. The TBI's are a little different but not much.
