1st Gen 3.0 to 22RE swap?

Found a nice 88 with the 3.0 that is blown, when I saw nice its really nice. I am wondering how hard of a swap is it going from the 3.0 to the 22RE it has a 5sp tranny now also. Thinking of buying one of the built motors to drop in if its not too hard.

I don't believe the transmissions are the same. But at least it had either engine in it from the factory.

While you're at that crossroad though, why not a 5vzfe or 3rz?

From what research i've done its WAY easier to do a 5vze swap. Mainly because of the engine mount placement and that it bolts directly to the transmission. Plus you'd get more horses!

yeah true it can use the current trans that's in it. Might as well put an engine in that's worth it.

(Sorry Kevin. lol...)

No need to be sorry. I can't think of any reason I'd go to all the effort of pulling a 3.0 just to replace it with a 22RE.
