Transfer Case Leak
Hi,
So I've been digging my '93 for the couple of weeks I've had it.
Last week I took it in for a cooling flush, transmission flush (auto, 3.0), and alignment.
I was under it today changing the fuel filter (well trying to, hopefully a soak of PB Blaster will help) and noticed some fluid leaking from what I believe are vent holes on the t-case (towards the top on the drivers side).
I have been under it a couple of times before, and the t-case was always perfectly clean.
From what I understand, the transmission and t-case are a joined system, correct?
Is it possible that during the flush, they pushed fluid into the t-case, and didn't pull it's fill plug to ensure it was drained back to the proper level? Is draining the transfer case something they should have included as part of the transmission flush?
Aside from pulling the fill plug to level it out, what (if anything) else should I do? Drain and fill the t-case?
The transmission feels great, although I don't believe I've put it into 4wd since the flush.
I've spent a little time with cars, but the world of 4wd is new to me.
Thanks
