1992 4runner top removal

Thinking about buying one. How hard is it to take off/put back on the bed cover.

Yeah, those 2nd Gen tops come off real easy....with a chainsaw. Sure you don't have the wrong year on there, friend?

Man did I mess up.

It's a 1988 model. ac does not work, no radio, kinda rough body paint wise, one small rusty spot in corner of rear wheel well, badly cracked windshield, does run good though. He wants 2400.00 for it.

So how hard is it too take off/replace?

thanks in advance

well talk him down to like 1500 and youll be in better shape it cost me 1100 for a windshield in my truck.
top is easy with two people a bit difficult with one person but that's why we have soft tops best 600$ you could ever spend

The top is very easy to remove and re-install. It will take two people though because it's kind of heavy but mostly awkward. I think the top weights about 125-150 lbs or so.

No offense but you have to be one of the cheapest Toyota guys I know of. Any time someone posts a price on a runner you immediately knock the price in half or cut a grand off of it.

I like to get a good deal and all but these runners do hold a little bit of value. If the only thing that is wrong with that runner is a cracked windshield and a small rust spot (radio and a/c is easy), then it's easily worth $2,000 at least.

Don't take this personally as it is not an attack on you. Just an observation.

people think there vehicles are made of solid gold now a days, i only pay what its worth to me i find toyotas all the time and never pay more then a grand.
1985 4runner 5inch lift not running i payed 1000$
1987 4runner new head gasket new radiator new brakes ran strong 167k 800$
1992 toyota pick up runs drives V6 rotted frame behind the cab 500$

to many people think vehicles are worth more that what they really are. its 20+ years old and parts are not as cheap as they use to be.

but in this 4runners case it has a destroyed windscreen i just said it cost me over a grand to replace mine because insurance wouldnt cover it because i bought it that way.

im not trying to be mean with the prices i say, a vehicle is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

You are also in MI trucks from the south (no snow or salt) will be worth more money and bring more money. I bet I could get 4K for mine now that I did the camo paint job and the few other odds and ins. Seems these bring more money down here.

had my windshield replaced and it cost about $225 retail installed with new clips. What did I really pay for it.. $65 and some Newcastle. That was cost on the windshield. I guess it helps to have a glass man as one of your best friends.
