All us East Coast 4Runners could meet up in Kansas City for some friendship and BBQ!

I was actually going to add to my last post for us to all funnel into St Louis, but I didn't want to sound like I was making specific plans without having a clearer picture of if I can even make it happen. I definitely like the idea, though. I just need to get a little further along before I go committing to something like that.

How cool! I'm definitely making April - even if I gotta go out all by my lonesome! Ooh, maybe my Toy will have bumpers by then, too. *crosses fingers*

Okay, I'm going to call the official dates 4/24 to 4/27 then.

April looks good for a trip out West!

I was just discussing this with by buddy over the weekend and he suggested we go during cruise moab.
Cruise Moab - Toyota 4x4 event in Moab, UT
btw i was planning on NOT registering for the event and just doing our own thing. we can stagger our trail runs to not conflict with their "official" runs. we've done ejs for many years this way, its kinda fun to be down there when there's an event going on cuz you get to see a lot of cool rigs and it makes potato salad a lot more fun when there's a few spectators. just throwing it out there, lmk what you guys think:

While I'm not at all sure if I'll be able to make this run, I'm not big on the idea of being there when there's a big trail event going on. I'd rather have the place as much to ourselves as we can get, to avoid unnecessary waits while on the trails, and to avoid bigger crowds at the campgrounds. While it would be cool to watch some big-time action on the obstacles, I'd rather not do that on our personal fun run. Just my .02...

I'm with Bob. I'd love to go to Cruise Moab, I've been trying to for a couple of years now. But I'd rather not combine that with this trip.

Same here. For us getting away also means less people the better. I like the feeling of solitude in small groups when visiting the western areas.

I would be up for a spring trip to Moab but not that weekend. I've vowed to myself I won't go near that place within 2-3 weeks from Easter Jeep Safari. April 12-20 but usually lingers another week. The weekend after Cruise Moab is usually the week we try to go.

I can believe that--when I was in South Dakota, the Sturgis motorcycle rally kept stretching out until it felt like a three-week rally.

I'm committing to this as well. I'll bring the 1st gen and the Tundra. I've spent at least a week in Moab every spring for the past 3 or 4 years now. We have gone anywhere from mid-March to mid-April. We've always avoided the week of Easter Jeep Safari, of course. The week before and the week after are actually not that bad. The earlier the better as the prices around town, especially for lodging, go up...which is why I usually prefer late March. Weather is warming up but not hot at all and prices are still low...

Oh good, my personal recovery vehicle.
Guys, this is Andrew, who rescues me when I get in the shit. Here's his beast from our trail run Saturday:

If I didn't have school in April I would totally join in on a run out to Utah. I have been wanting to go out there badly, and cruising some of the trails with fellow Toyota owners would be awesome. I think gas and time will prevent this from happening, maybe I can convoy with the East Coast guys another year.

I love that it is your personal recovery vehicle that Andrew puts all of his money into.
