Question New Wheels = Clicking sound

Just put on some used American Racing Outlaw IIs in great shape. they're 15x8, with 31s. Had them put on and balanced, all went fine.

Problem arose as I began driving. For every one revolution of the wheel there is a clicking sound. It speeds up as the wheel spins faster. I've inspected each wheel. It appears that nothing is catching the inside of the wheel. The wheel weights aren't catching the calipers or drums from what I can tell. I believe the backspacing is 3.75 inches. I can't tell if it's coming from just the front wheels or all four. Do I need spacers? I was pretty sure that I didn't. Any ideas anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chrome center caps? Either retorque them, or take a pair of pliers and bend the edge of the center cap ( if you have them) up just a little to keep them from moving. Mine did that and it drove me nuts…...

You know whats fun? Next time your on the trail and everyones stopped, throw a long zip tie on to some ones drive shaft and dont cut it so it slaps the body/suspension. Watch em get all freaked out. Haha.

What if you jacked up each corner of the truck individually and spun the wheel by hand to try to hear it.

Or drive slowly in a parking lot with some one outside the truck listening to try and pin point it.

...and check for zip ties...

you could have a rock or nail stuck in the tread of your tire. ive have a large screw before and i would hear a clacking when i drove . the faster i went the faster the clacking got.

No zip ties, lol. Great idea though. Couldn't be the center caps as I have none yet. Checked the tires for nails and anything stuck in the tread. Nada. Jacked up each wheel and gave em a spin. The culprit is the right rear. It seems like the inside wheels weights are scrapping the metal rotor shield at some point. When I get more time, I think i'll take the wheel off and give the shield a little bend.

Probably bent the backing plate with the wheel and now it contacts the drum/rotor each rev.

Brake pads don't have retaining clips in them.

backing plate as in the thin disk that the shoes are mounted to. or the disk that the rotor gets rocks stuck between.
