Common Vacuum Leaks?

I am pretty sure that I have a vacuum leak, causing my idle speed to remain elevated, even after the engine is warm. Where should I start looking?

My current plan is to systematically remove one vacuum hose from the intake at a time and plug the hole to see if an effect is observed on the idle speed. Does this seem like a logical approach?

That sounds like a decent plan. Also check your elbow after the AFM and before the throttle body.
Another trick is the pressurize your intake tube. Pull the elbow at the AFM and use a large plug or something in the tube, give 4 psi and see if you can find a leak.

A common mistake is the 3 center passenger side under plenom tubes to hoses get mis-routed when the mechanic removes the plenom to service the pcv or valve cover gasket.

Pull the modulator cap off and clean its internal filter. Its function is to clean the air vacuum to the EGR. If you pull the top hose off the EGR and the engine smooths out, the VSV hoses are routed incorrectly. This is a mistake made by mechanics when the plenom gets pulled, replaceing the passenger side valve cover gasket or pcv valve. under center sticking out under passenger side plenom are these three tubes. One goes to the fuel regulator, and you get a foul smell from exhaust, poor performance also. Under the Bonnet (hood) on driver side is the vacuum hose routeing, but better pictures are posted online here.
Search code 71 and vacuum lines. - Page 2 - YotaTech Forums
The Blue VSV is to the PAIR, The Red (brown) is to the Fuel pressure up and the Green is to EGR. Consult the under hood front right vac routing sticker.

Been searching for days about my bouncing idle. Haven't had any luck. Think I'll try this tonight after work.

I have a massive vacuum leak on the passenger side but I need a illustration to further diagnose what hose goes to what port where. Can you help?
