I have a 1982 Toyota truck...this forum not for me?
I'm looking for a forum that has knowledgeable Toyota folks, because my dad's truck is 32 years old there's always something that needs tweaking. Is this forum for me, or should I look elsewhere?
How similar are the early 4Runners to the early 80s trucks in any event? Thanks!

Short answer about 95% of our trucks are efi. We may be able to help a little but the first 4runner was made in 85. You may have better luck on a trekker forum but anyways welcome

Your '82 will have a 22R. The 4Runner came out in '84 and the fuel injected 22RE in '85, so most of us that have a 22 series motor have the 22RE. That doesn't mean we won't help if we can though. To be honest, you might have better luck with Yotatech in terms of tech support, though I think we're friendlier .
Let's see some pics!

Our trucks are very similar. And many of us have been driving these trucks since '79.

The difference between the 80's trucks and 4Runners is almost nothing.
I can't recommend yogatech, but Toyota Nation has good early truck sections.
But give us a try first ;)

That '79-'83 generation could've had an awesome 4runner. No, I'm not counting the Trekker.
They're good looking trucks, although catching a 4x4 one on the streets these days is markedly rare. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

And in another somewhat off topic moment...
Anyone know how to get into the toyotadiesel forum? I have an 82 diesel I lucked up on last year. Hoping to be moving on my 4runner soon.
Anyone here like pictures?? Note the factory clock.
