New here. What can I expect?
Hello all. I'm new to this forum, and am interested in purchasing a 95 4runner, V6, 4-speed auto, RWD, with 243k miles listed at $2300. The listed pictures look clean, and a carfax report doesn't show any serious incidents in the vehicles history. I intend to use this car as a weekend toy for about six months, and as a daily driver for a year after that. Based on your experiences, what can I expect from this vehicle as far as maintenance and likely repairs? Is $2300 a fair price in your eyes, given the mileage?

With that mileage, I would highly suggest getting some info on when the head gaskets and timing belt have been changed, that is a big issue with the 3.0. So I am guessing "RWD" means its a 2wd model and not a 4x4?

sorry bud you will likely get little or bad news. hell of a year to be a 4runner in my mind. looks like your gona have to add 4x4 altogether. might as well swap in a solid axle and do the 3.0 to 3.4 swap while your there lol. it has potential, but id keep looking. unless they have docs proven the head was recently done of course....look for an 85!

It is a 2WD. If you look at the interior pictures it's only got the one gear shift.

That sounds like a bad price for a high-miles '95 (Damn, one year off from greatness) that's 2 wheel drive with a 3.killmyself.
For 2 to 3 grand, I'd buy a 1st or 2nd gen with 4wd, avoiding the 3.0 if I could. Although the 22re isn't exactly problem free in the long run either.
These old vehicles require upkeep. For that reason, we make sure we buy good examples when shopping for them. 3.0's over 200k honestly scare me, and 2wd definitely bores me.

For a 2WD with the 3.0 and an automatic? He'd have to pay me to take it.
