The upper mount is a fairly new product I'm sure, there is really no info or review on the web other than their website which states trimming for fitment will probably be necessary. A friend of mine was unable to use it for some reason I am not sure of. I suspect the proportioning valve on the frame is in the way, which I am removing anyway. I plan to add plate where it welds to the frame to reinforce it.

Are you talking about Jerret's truck? Im kinda interested to see how that upper mount works for you aswell. I was going to order it from LRO, but Jerret said theres a lot of modifying to get it to work for some reason. I have actually seen an install on it yet, so i havent pulled the trigger on it.

Yea Jerret. I have a feeling the brake proportioning valve and exhaust kept him from using it.

I looked under the valve cover today. Oil leaks out of the timing cover where it meets the head. Well, I am missing the "bolt under the oil puddle". I don't even have an oil puddle there. Does anyone know what size bolt I need?

Also need to replace the PCV valve grommet.

Got the old header out and realized I need a stud kit. Also ordered a rear main seal, shifter fork boot, socket and cup.

Here is the intake I pieced together

It's a 14mm head if memory serves, but I don't remember the pitch. Just rob the bolt from your other truck.

Nice header!

My other truck leaks in the same spot so I assume it is missing too. Never noticed it under the oil. Anyway it is an M8x50, I think 1.25 thread pitch, I just need to go get one.

Well that damn bolt is broken off inside the timing cover. I can see where sealant was applied to prevent the leak but it just doesn't work. Started taking everything off to pull the cover until a storm came.

Don't you love cleaning up after the PO? I wonder what other jackholery you'll run into.

Yes it has been so fun with both of my runners!

I am nervous what I will find as I keep digging, I have already found a few other ****ups. I can't blame the PO though. Obviously the shop that built this motor should find a new line of work. I have the paperwork for it.

Every 4Runner build should have beer included... Nice work!
That is a really nice battery box, I'll have to check them out for a second battery located in the back.

How's the front axle coming?

Damn straight, cold beer to keep me calm while I curse PO's, lol.

The front axle is built under the '85. Need to finish cleaning this frame and weld up the hangers and frame plates etc. I'm going to focus on the motor for now, take a break from grinding.

I can't believe someone did this, especially a "professional" shop.

Everything else looks good, so I'll just clean everything up, get a new cover and put it back together.
