Finally working on this thing again. Trans. is back in with new clutch, flywheel, slave and MC etc. I bought a hobart 190 mig and have been playing with that and am pretty good already. The front frame is almost clean and ready for the hanger and shackle tubes, and the gas tank is out to mount the rear spring hangers easily.

Lots of progress in the next month I hope!!!

Well I have been doin stuff here and there, but it's finally cooled off and I can comfortably work every day now. I pulled the rear diff to give to my buddy @4Running15 since he destroyed his front ring gear on a rock .

If you have a plasma, I'm gonna bring my rear axle housing and a case of beer over soon to cut all the brackets off

Yup I have a plasma cutter. Not the best one but I've used it to do a couple sas jobs now. You are more than welcome to come by and use it sometime. Just gimme a heads up. Usually free thursday and Friday afternoons and on weekends.

Got the spring hangers and rear shackle hangers burned in, front reinforcement, and motor mount plates, working on the shackle tubes currently. It's nice to measure off the '85 and put things exactly where I want them.

Cab mount chop. Wanted a steeper shackle angle with the TG springs.

To save time, I decided to order a rebuilt and tapped steering box. Planning to add hydro assist at some point. The box was lot of $$$ but will save me some frustration. Once I get the box mount in place, I will clean and coat the frame, reassemble the front of the engine, hang the springs, mount the dual cases, and work on the axles.

I started pulling parts off the '85

Took the steering box off the '85 to mock up. Using a flat pitman arm. I'll drill the holes this evening.

Thanks fellas. All the work seemed extremely overwhelming but I am feeling very confident now. My GF says I need to hurry up so she can drive it, lol.

I kinda wish I'd mounted my box like that, but I was worried about the angle of the steering column joints. Does it have any binding? Did you have to extend it at all?

I haven't gotten that far yet. But I imagine it should work fine. I have not seen issues like that mentioned from those who have mounted the box this way.
