Needing Help.
So over the past few days my 2nd Gen 4runner has been reaching 2000 RPM's at 10 mph and while accelerating from zero mph it reaches 1500 before even moving. what could be wrong? Its is Auto. It is not in four low. when the car wont move when in drive and i have the gas pedal down, i move to 4low just to start moving, She works perfectly with 4WD but in Drive she has trouble goin.

It could do that either way. Out of those two you better hope it would be a clutch. A slipping auto is no bueno.

No. it works well in four low. as in Acceleration wise, when the car ain't moving I usually put it in 4low to get moving then switch to Drive as the car is moving

Find one used. When I had an auto, I picked up one off craigslist for $150 and installed it myself. Not that hard of a job.

I have the tools, and my dad and i have changed transmissions before. He thought my issue was the converter in the bell of the tranny. The only thing is to buy a tranny and get my bike outta storage to get to campus, haha

They are pretty easy to find though because many people blow their HG and think the whole truck is toast
