Bad fuel leak... Injector? Fuel Rail?

I tried a search and didn't have much luck.

I drove on the freeway yesterday for the 1st time in forever. Only a few miles at 65 MPH. I got home and everything was normal.

This morning I cranked and cranked the motor til it finally started. As I drove down the street I could smell gas so I turned around back home. I got out and there was fuel pouring out from under the passenger side of the runner. I popped the hood and the top passenger side looked pretty wet as well.

I don't know alot about FI, but I remember when I did the valve covers a few years ago it seems like the injectors just popped into place. It seems to run OK, maybe a little sluggish, but no miss. I'm thinking one just popped out, but that was alot of gas......

Any ideas?

there are several things that it could be....
could be a seal for the injector, a fitting, a hose, etc....

if you have an inspection mirror & a light. you could turn on the ignition (may have to be running) & look for the leak before you tare everything apart. even a cheap dental mirror might work. just depends on where its leaking from.

So it turned out to be the cold idle hose coming from the fuel rail. $105 dealer only. I cut the ends off and am going to throw some fuel line on it and call it good….

I'm starting a new thread called "don't you hate it when"… I write my adventure there.
