Does this sound right?

Greetings Y all . Im looking to buy my first 4x4 and after scouring the internet , I have finaly come to the conclusion that the 1rst gen T4R is the one for me. That being said , I have no idea if this engin sounds perfect or not ? I have shown the video to some mechanic's around me but I get mixed answers , one says a valve is clicking . The other says that there is deffinatly a problem but it has to get " plugged" . So it got me thinking , why not just ask the experts ? So here I am. Any and all input will greatly appreciated . Thks in advance.

I hear injectors clicking and a little bit of valve lash, both are normal to an extent for these motors and nothing that isn't easily corrected. I might hear a little of timing chain slap - that little bit of chuckle at the end when you bring it back to idle. There might be a vacuum leak in there too. What does it sound like on a cold start, is that chuckle sound a little more pronounced?

I forgot to mention that the video is from the seller. I'll ask him if it was a cold start.

I agree with kid on the sounds. I didnt hear the timing chain part, but its a common problem with these.

These motors are pretty clicky motors.

General rule of thumb when buying a used car, especially a oooold used truck, is expect to sink ATLEAST a grand into it over the next 12 months fixing stuff.
