85 Knuckle Service - Fill the knuckle 3/4 with grease?

Okay, so I am in the process of servicing the knuckles on my 85 along with a couple other items. For reference of my skills, this is probably the most complicated project I have taken on, however the tear down went very well on the knuckles thanks to lots of prep and research which I have found plenty....However, one question.

Most of the references I come across recommend filling the knuckle 3/4 full of grease, however of course you don't see a lot of pics of this since it's presumable a messy process. So, I literally pack in grease until the knuckle housing is literally 3/4 full, right? Shoving it in there without verifying had me concerned and I want this to be perfect after putting everything back together.

Thanks for any help you can provide - definitely wouldn't have taken this on without finding good research in the first place.

Pics not for reference, but just because they make all threads better...

There's multiple schools of thought on how to pack a knuckle. Some guys wanna fill it up with grease, some use barely any. I like to grease all the surfaces well and throw in a healthy glop or two for good measure. I definitely don't pack it 3/4ths full though, but that's me. I wouldn't overthink it. Throw some grease in there and get back to driving.

Also, you have a stupid clean truck and I don't like you. Go scratch it up please so I won't be so jealous.

Ha. thanks Kid. Much appreciated. Will do! I'm jealous of how much you get to use yours appropriately with the beautiful area you live in.

Also, the back bumper brackets from awhile back worked perfect. new bumper is on as well!
