Code 71 EGR fault.

From my searching, California vehicles show this fault code. It's a 1993 3.0 automatic. I did pull off all the vacuum hoses during an injector repair project and hopefully put them back on correctly but only have an 80% confidence level. The larger hoses are pretty straight forward. The smaller ones that go on in groups of 3, especially at the lower one are suspect.
There is a vacuum thermo switch on the back of the motor that is in line from the charcoal canister to the throttle body that I broke the tips off of. I put in a similar part from a 4 cylinder car. I will be adjusting the TPS this evening.
Anyone have experience with the EGR code?

The vacuum thermo switch, i replaced it w/ a new one trying to troubleshoot a cold start issue and broke the new one in like 10 seconds flat, i shoved a golf tee in both vacuum line ends and i get no code. FYI.

I pulled the battery terminal to reset the code about 25 miles ago and it hasn't come back on. Could be that it was just a hiccup after the vehicle sat for a good part of the last year or so. I will still adjust the TPS to fix other issues that may also have triggered this issue.

Here is the vacuum thermo valve thing I pulled off the 4 cylinder Toyota car.
It has the same thread as the original. The price was right at under $5.00 so I will try it.
