tranny GREW 5 or 10mm while pulled! Wont line up!!

finally ready to put the rear cross member under the tranny

and the tranny mount bolt holes Plus that little puck hanging down there wish the cross member were located another quarter inch back!! Of course there's no adjustment for the crossmember, it has to go where it goes.

The motor mounts are fixed at their location.. Resting completely against those tabs just like they should be. There was one and only plate between the motor and tranny, and it sure looks like it was the tranny that came out of there, but I'll be damned ,it doesn't line up to the crossmember.

That dimension should be on the money.

I can't see anything that's misaligned, so the only reasonable explanation is the motor and tranny grew a quarter inch hanging from ceiling.

I could just elongate the screw holes, but to do the same thing for the puck start eating into significant Metal.

Has anyone else encountered this? Okay Fabbers, no laughing, I'm just doing a stock truck. What size hammer is required to fix this kind of problem?

A big one. And dont forget the heat.

What if you hang it from the ceiling the other way for a while?

But seriously.. Maybe the motor mounts are in backwards ( I dont know if that matters) ?

I'm not a mathepatician , but I think I would have to hang the truck to stretch it to match. The motor mounts can't be swapped, they are left and right specific.
It's just spooky how got off by so little, with those slot connections.

I'll be able to slot the transmission mount bolts holes forward, that's elongating seven holes in quarter inch plate. Not my dream project

PS. I loosened everything , cross member, mount , bolted everything together loosely then snugged & torqued.
IT all fit up loose then drew in by tightening
