2nd gen 2WD with blown head gasket for $500

Hey guys,

looking at this '94 4Runner RWD with blown head gasket, the guy listed it for $500. 145k miles.

Do you think it's worth it as a daily driver?

Sure why not? Is it rust free? Looks nice from outside..

Say you went all out and spent 3,000.00 on a new/rebuilt 3.0 motor including installation ( Not sure if you can do installation) and you divide that over the conservative life of the motor @4 years that's 62.00 per month cost to own and drive. @ 3 years that is 83.00 per month cost to own.

You can not be sure that all the problem is the head gasket. That's why I planned worse case above...

Go for it. From that pic it doesn't look to be in that bad condition.

Worth it? Maybe. It's not a bargain, though.

If you're good with 2wd, I'd get a car. Better mileage, better insurance rates. If you're specifically looking for a truck, 2wd probably won't cut it and after you invest time and money getting it running you'll end up regretting you didn't get a 4wd in the first place.
