first gen clutch

iv got a 87 with 22er and w56 trans, im in need of a clutch replacement.
local shop quoted 450 labor.
what clutch should i buy? i dont want to spend 800 on the job. what is the best clutch kit for the money?

Id get the aisin clutch kit from rock auto. It comes with everything you need short of resurfacing the flywheel itself. I paid $120 if I recall. Its not a terrible job and I did the entire thing in an afternoon with a transmission jack.

X3 on the Aisin. Did mine just a couple of months ago and it works great. Just make sure you put the throw-out bearing in the correct way (ask me how I know).
Also, you may want to invest in 2 new clutch collar retaining clips ($4). I found one of mine broken and had to wait a couple of days do get it from the dealer.
