After looking at that console some more; I'm not even sure there is enough space for a cup holder up there. The double cup holder for the storage part of the console might be the only option for the folks with the auto. What I need to see if a profile shot from the side so I can see the distance between the shifters (all the way forward) and the dash.

I don't know if the autos outnumbered the manuals when new, but I would think that just out of popularity and longevity, that there are more manuals on the road at this time.

Alright, well I don't want to wait for the auto console to release the manual console cup holders. So I went ahead and got the first batch up on my site. I'm still interested in developing one for the automatic if someone is willing to loan me their console for about a week. I will also start working on the double cup holder that will mount in the storage section of the center console. Shipping is free so if you buy a single now and a double down the road when I release it; your not going to pay twice for shipping. Here is the final version installed. It sits right up against the dash to allow for the most amount of movement for the seat BUT does not get pushed forward by the dash. It will sit nice and flush/level and but tight to the dash. I had VERY little space to work with and felt this was about as good as a spot as I can place it and still allow full function of the shifters, full movement of the seat (minus a little over an inch), and clearing the dash. I will get some pics of the black one installed within a few days. I basically am waiting for someone to order a black one, install it, and then send me pics. The first few orders that came in today were all gray. 1st Gen (84-89) 4runner Single Cup Holder | BH3D Printing

So I thought the batch of 10 cup holders would last a few days. Apparently not. I at least have 3 left. I have another batch printing now and will update my site when they finish tomorrow. The good news is that one of you bought a black one. Andrew, hopefully your on this forum and see this post. I NEED pics of it installed.

That would be me, I ordered a black one. I can get pics for you if you don't mind the red interior.

Red is fine. It will ship out in a couple hours. They will all go out Priority mail and should arrive on either Saturday or Monday.

If your willing to take pics for me then I'm going to send you two inserts. A black one and a gray one. I think the two tone black cup holder with gray insert is a nice look but may look funky in a red interior. I figured you could snap pics of the black on black and the black on gray and post it here. We can get folks feedback and I will go with the most popular option. Sound ok to you? Since I never found a perfect match to the gray interior I might eventually just have a single color option of black with a gray insert. I have a gray filament that is pretty close to the factory color, and if it's not touching it then it may look perfect.

I have no issue with that, I will install it and snap pics for you once I get it.

I made a HUGE mistake and I need to correct it right now. I was installing a cup holder today for a local 1st gen guy and noticed an issue that my earlier versions didn't have. I have now made and shipped off 3 large batches of the 1st gen single cup holders with the 4th batch in production. there have been a couple minor changes between the batches to better fit the console. Most are not noticeable to the eye. The last change was a big mistake. I had made a notch on the back side of the cupholder to allow the dash to clear. It wasn't really visible once installed but was there to keep the cup holder as far foward as possible to allow for full range of motion of the seat. I went to look at the file last week and realized that change had not bee saved so I redid the change. In my haste to add back the latest change I put the notch on the outside edge of the cup holder and not the back edge. The cup holders will still fit and function fine but will have a recessed area on the passenger side which serves no purpose. If for any reason this bothers someone I will give you two options. You can ship it back (I will cover the cost in shipping) and I will ship you the latest corrected version OR I can give you a 50% off discount and call it a "prototype" print. I will be sending out an email to the folks who recieved cup holders from the last batch (should be about 10 of you). You can repsond to that or pm me on this forum. I will make it right. I am very sorry for the mistake. I'm glad I caught it early and only have to fix 10 orders and not 50+.

Edit: All people who got the messed up order have now been contacted. The good news is that my wife had not shipped out the weekend orders yet so I was able to stop 5 of them before they even shipped. That means only 5 of you got one with the notch in the wrong spot.

Time for an update. All of the messed up orders were corrected and new cup holders were shipped out. I got the latest version installed at it fit perfect. I also got some pics of the black cup holder installed for folks who wanted to see what the black looks like. I might offer the black with a gray insert for good contrast. I will get some pics of the gray insert with the black cup holder later this week. I was also able to find a gray paint that was one shade darker. It's still not an exact match but it's getting close. Pics of that are below.
I am officially done with development of this product and am now moving on to the double cup holder for the storage tray of the console. I'm working on it right now and was doing some research and I am seeing two versions of the center console. One has the heat that goes into the rear and one is without heat. The console I'm working off of does NOT have the heat. What I need from you guys is pics of the center console WITH heat. I would like to see down in the storage compartment and would like to know how long, wide, and deep it is so I can compare that to the one I have. I need to know if I need to design two versions or if I can make one that will fit both.

Here is my preliminary idea on the double cup holder. It will sit down in the storage compartment. It will hold two cups and I added a notch for a handle in case you have a drink with a handle. It also has a cell phone slot with a notch for a phone charger to come through. The back few inches of the factory storage compartment will still be open. There is also two pen holders and, and a LED flashlight holder. I did my best to utilize the space and make it as functional as possible. I have the first prototype on a printer now and will do test fitting tomorrow evening. Feel free to give feedback, suggestions, concerns, etc. I do know that when drinks are installed then the lid will need to stay open. You can also just remove the lid for good if your open to that idea.

I just came across your post. I have the automatic on my '86. Are you interested, cause I am!
The auto is much more space friendly for a cup holder. I have been wanting to do this. PM me for pics or more info. I have trouble posting pics here.

Very interested! Maybe incorporate a USB jack in the place for the flashlight holder? always run a supply to it.
