I am a little confused by your 4 posts. I cannot tell if you are wanting the double cup holder insert or if you are offering to loan me your console?

Very Interested in a single cup holder for the shift area and double for the console. Rocking an 86 with gray interior and a standard depth console. No heater, no second level on the console. Would be shipped to 33486. PM me the numbers when you are able. Thanks for the work to design these!

My truck is down for awhile longer from a rollover. I have the shorter center console with heat. If you still need one for prototyping, I can send it to you. I also have the auto trim piece as well if you still need that. Just let me know. I might not even reuse the center console so there may be no need to send it back.

I have the single cup holder in stock for the manual tranny. I will be releasing the double cup holder some time next week. I already developed the one for the short console (non heat) and I'm working on the double for the tall console right now. I hope to have the first prototype on a machine today.

I would definitely love to get access to the auto bezel/shifter section to work off of. I would need it for about a week. I would also love to borrow the low console with heat. I'm not sure there is enough depth to create a functional cup holder in the storage compartment but I'm willing to give it a try. PM coming.

Hi Bhicks,
(Not sure if I had asked before)...
Would you consider making a variation of the rear window control/coin holder insert so, after switches are relocated, it can be used as a single cup holder? It would look very much like stock. I have ideas but no equipment nor experience doing Fiberglas or fabricating work.

Switches removed:

Insert modification in process. Common coffee mug sits on the existing "bottom" of insert:

Opening in existing bottom would accommodate skinnier travel cup:

I would be glad to send you mine if you'd like.

Regards,
RAD

Wow, that is a lot of work for a cup holder. Would this cup holder you are asking about only be useable if modifications were made to the factory console? I'm not real big on cutting up factory parts to make room for a cup holder. I think my double cup holder (coming soon) is pretty functional and requires zero cutting or drilling. Same goes for the front single. If this idea would require no cutting to the factory console then I might be interested in developing something.

Hi BHicks,

Oh no; no cutting required. That black insert is easily removed. Then it can be replaced with a fabricated one that is a cup holder.

After all, the stock location is a bad place for switches; I'm sure in the past 28 years drinks had been spilt on those switches at least once.

I simply showed you what I had been working on - modifying the existing insert - to show how it would fit around the different cups. I stopped because it would require Fiberglas work. A 3D printed would be cleaner.

That is if there's enough demand to make it feasible for you.

Ok. Let me finish up the double cup holder designs and get them released and I will then look into finding if there is any demand for this.

So here is my design for the tall console with the padded armrest. It's really narrow so I didn't have room for a cell phone slot. I also had to make the rear cup holder slightly more narrow to account for a space needed for the movement of the hinge. The two pencil/pen holders are in the back so you can use a pencil to prop up the lid while you have cups in there. It's not an awesome idea, BUT it does get the job done of keeping the lid from slamming down onto your drinks and breaking/bending the straw. The lid may actually stay open during driving. I have not tested that yet, so the pencil prop idea may not be needed. Here is the current design. I went through a few versions before I got fitment perfect and made sure the cup holders were large enough to hold most drinks.

Here is the double cup holder for the low console WITHOUT heat.

Edit: I forgot to mention that neither of these two designs have been sanded or acetoned. Once sanded and acetoned they have a much smoother look.

Let me help you with those pics. I can't see the ones you posted. I am currently making a batch of the double cup holder insert for the tall console (padded armrest) and the short console WITHOUT heat. I will be releasing them onto my site either tomorrow or Friday night. I want to have a good size batch before I put them up for sale. I decided not to go with a painted finish. Most of my cup holders have inserts (which aren't painted) but there wasn't enough space for an insert and I didn't want cold wet drinks up against a painted surface. I went with a bare black plastic. I run them through an acetone bath for strength and the smooth glossy finish. I know that glossy isn't everyone's favorite but it is the best option in this application. I will get pics of the shorter console double cup holder final design tomorrow when I have better lighting. I did make some changes to that design for better function.

Yep, Bare plastic also means low-maintenance.

And now for the final version of the double cup holder for the lower/shorter console WITHOUT heat. No room for the console with heat. Sorry guys. I had to push the cup holders apart to allow larger cups to not run into each other up top. The flash light holder had to go and the usb port had to go. I WAS able to keep the pen holders and added a knife/multi tool holder. It holds two of my 3 multi tool. My huge tool with like 70 features would not fit. I have now made a decent size batch of both of these and the last of that batch is printing now. these will be up on my site and on my etsy page tomorrow.
Edit: I forgot to add that if someone wants a satin finish black or gray; I am happy to do that.
