Been doing a bunch of wiring (lights etc) and have more in my future. Looking at the spider web of my jumpers, went on Amazon and found this gizmo -

Should be testing easier

Awesome build so far man. Is the part number list you had in a previous post all the numbers needed for the oil pan swap?

To the best of my knowledge (based on a parts list I found on pirate 4x4), yes, I have heard that you don't need the dip stick and a couple of smaller parts but figured I would order all of so I had the stuff. That being said- i have not done the oil pan conversion yet because my SAS hasn't been done yet.
Fingers are crossed I can drop it off this week

that is actually the Trekker, still on jackstands in the garage. It is ready to go away. i had a few people wanting to buy it, look at it and than never heard back from them.
I have debated about hauling it out to my parents barn and letting it sit but it needs a frame and obviously suspension etc that has been pulled to go under the 4Runner.

I was hoping to pick up the 4Runner today but i ended up misplacing some parts so they are now on order...

I was able to get down to @1UZrunner 's shop today to pick up the 4runner. I was in Texas visiting family last week so pick up was delayed a few days. *I am really happy with what he did with my limited budget.
Had a co-pilot on the way home*

Anyway on to pics
what he started with
Front view:

side view

Will be swapping the front shackles to a set of boomerangs from Sky's to help clear the front body mount

going from a 235/75/15 to a 35x12.50x15 was nice

anybody need some left over IFS parts? *

added some X-O Fab frame plates and Ford shock towers.

I will be swapping to the 2WD oil pan in the next couple of days, tight fit as is

I will probably be swapping to rear leaf springs in the near future. the FJ80 springs I had didn't raise the rear as much as I had hoped.

started farting around with ideas to modify the rear swing out so I could mount a 35" spare and clear the rear bumper.
taking some measurements the mounting surface would need to be raised 21/2 to 3" to clear the reciever

busted out some poster board and made a stencil.
my idea is to use some 11-12 guage steel i picked up last summer, make 2 plates for each side, cut the mounting surface and raise it the required distance, weld and bolt it (grade 8)

test fit of the first piece. the red line indicates where i will probably need to trim the plate to clear the lower part of the rim

i know a few people who have mounted 35's on the factory carrier but they did not have to modify the carrier.
i got this idea from what a guy in England did, i figure adding the plate on both sides should make it as strong or stronger
here is what he did
