Found a 1988 / 76,300 miles / 1 owner 4-Runner!
I felt it was my duty to post this find to this forum:
1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 at Green Family Stores | Your Source For New & Pre-Owned Vehicles
There are no pics with the link, but I looked at it today. If you look at the link, it shows the AutoCheck link, which shows 1 owner!
It is Brown, with a little rust at the rear of the rear fenders, brown cloth in AMAZING shape, the front console foam looked worn, but everything else was great. v6, manual shift, 4x4, and doesn't look like it has ever been modified.
$6,997 is the asking price, and it is on the back row where, if the vehicles don't sell within a week, they ship it to the wholesale auto auction, so I would think you could pick it up cheaper.
I am guessing that this would be worth A LOT more to the right person looking for a 1 owner original 4Runner with low miles???
I just wanted to pass my find along, and hear what others think. I might be able to snap pictures tomorrow if anyone would be interested.
I'm looking for a winter vehicle, but I was hoping to spend $7k for something around 00-04 years, not 1988

Clean truck. It really is. Probably was owned by an old guy who died or something.
I'd say pick it up. I'm down in the middle of Il and don't have enough money - rip...

If the frame is good and it runs good, I think it's worth it.

It's probably just the California in me.
But- That rust is a deal breaker. Original paint ruined, at least that portion. Sure, you could replace that section and repaint it, blend it into the rest of the body, but that would cost how much? There's gotta be rust more elsewhere, the a-pillars and rain gutters come to mind.

You can tell you are not from the rust belt area. ;-) I agree, it would be nice to have no rust, but I'm thinking that amount of rust is quite rare for around here. I should check other areas out on it closer though.

I'm totally not sure how I feel about that bug deflector. I wanna say I love it cause I've never seen one like it, but at the same time... it just looks... so strange. lol
Forget the rust. That's a clean truck. If anything, use that small chunk of rust to bring down the price

Not the best winter vehicle. That is a fairly rare vehicle at this point and it is in better than average condition. That thing will rust to pieces if you put it through a few winters.

Looks like it sold - I wonder what the new owner gave for it? I decided a newer 4runner would fit the needs of me and the family - so I'm on the lookout for something between $5,000 - $8,500. I can't find a deal on one - it seems like 4runners from 99-01 with 180k go for $5,000+ around here!?
